    Cold water is running hot
I have a huge problem. The cold water in the house when you turn it on, run really warm instead of cold. I have had 2 different plumbers look at the problem. One says there isn't anything to do as the pipes are in the attic and its really hot up there. (we are in AZ). The second says he can run a pipe from one side of the yard to the other and then tear up my walls in the garage to put a line in the ground to get it a little cooler. Is there any other options I should look at? I really hate to dig up the whole yard and house. Thanks!

When you turn on your cold how long does it run and stay hot? Have you insulated the pipes?

The pipes are not insulated as the plumber said it would make them hotter and it runs like that for a long time. The cold and hot water lines were also checked to ensure they were not mixed up

In the cold taps (and in the lavatory cisterns) there is only a small dribble of water. ...

Cold water no longer running to one sink. Also lots of air [ 3 Answers ]

I moved in about a month ago to a 1920's duplex. Most of the plumbing was re-done when the house was gutted in the '90s, and there was an addition added (with PEX plumbing, incidentally) in 2001. When we bought the house the addition had been winterized. I've de-winterized it and now have a few ...

Hot water running cold in shower [ 6 Answers ]

We just had a new peerless tankless boiler put in our home. With the old boiler we had no problem with the hot water in the showers. However, when we replaced the shower controls I did have to make an adjustment on the pipes of the oil boiler. I turned a knob on one of the pipes that seemed to...

Slow running cold water [ 1 Answers ]

Here's the story, and I appologize for the length: I live in a newer trailer house (fiance owns it). I believe it's a '92 or '94, or close to there. The trailer court that the house is located in is on a private well for the entire court. I know the water is fairly hard since I used to have to...
