I was reading online and it says that bacterial infections in men are either STD's or a UTI. I was wondering if there are any bacterial infections in men that are not a STD or a UTI?

Food poisoning can be one of numerous bacterial infections that occur in men that is neither a STD nor UTI, but may be outside the scope of your question.

Sorry I should have been more specific. If the bacterial infection is in the testicles, does this mean that it is a STD or UTI or are there other types of infections in the testicles that are not sexually transmitted?

I'd think conceivably any blood or lymph borne bacterial or viral infection originating elsewhere in the body could infect. Mumps would be a good viral example, but I can't think of a common bacterial case offhand, perhaps infection through direct injury. If this isn't an academic question and pain is involved, see a doctor pronto.

Edit: Testicular tuberculosis would be bacterial but don't know if that is considered a urinary tract infection based on the spread.

Thank you. I'm still a bit confused though so maybe if I explain my exact situation to you it might help me some more.

My boyfriend was having pain in his testicles and he found a little lump above them. He went to the doctor and the doctor told him he had something called spermatocele, which is like a cyst. I was reading what causes spermatocele and the internet says it can be one of three things which are: trauma to the testicles, epididymitis(an infection in the epididymis which is in the back of the testicle where sperm is stored), or some kind of blockage. My boyfriend had no trauma to his testicles, so it's either an infection or the blockage. His doctor prescribed him anti-biotics because he said if it is the infection it will clear it, and he is going for an ultra sound next week. I searched "bacterial infection in testicles" and all I found was that it was either a STD or a UTI. I'm pretty sure it's not a STD because the doctor never recommended he get tested for a STD, so I guess he's assuming it's a UTI. I searched "what causes a UTI in men" and the only things that caused it was a STD, or problems with kidney stones or diabeties and nothing applied to him and would explain why he had a UTI. So now I want to know if it's possible that the infection was something other than a UTI or STD.

I'm asking because I'm wondering if I should go to the doctor. I don't think it's a STD but it is some kind of bacterial infection and we had sex a lot recently, so I'm worried that I have some kind of bacterial infection now too.

Are you sure? Perhaps it was minor. Sometimes things get pinched by clothing. In any case, self-diagnosis from Internet information is problematic. Since he's already in discussions with a doctor, have him call the doctor and inquire. If you need peace of mind yourself go get tested.

Well I did accidentally hit them a few months ago and he said it hurt a lot, but the thoughts about the infection was bothering me so I decided to go to a walk in clinic with my boyfriend. We both spoke with a doctor because his doctor is off until Monday, and the doctor at the walk in said that it isn't a sexually transmitted infection and it's safe to have unprotected sex, so my mind is at ease now lol.
