    Bank laws with car payments
I have a loan with a bank for my truck and it fell behind a few payments. Now they are telling me that I have to pay all of past due amount up front and that if I don't they are going to repo my truck. Now I can't make all the payment at once. But I can make a double payment. They are telling me I have to give them over 900 or its nothing. Now I offering to make a 600 dollar payment but they are telling me to pay it all. If they refuse to take my payment I was told that I would no longer owe them anything. I was told that the law says if they refuse payment I wouldn't owe. I want to take care of this I want to make payments but I can't make the amount they are trying to make me pay. Any good advise would help.

If you are unable to bring the loan current they can repossess the truck.

Whoever gave you that advice, "If they refuse payment, you don't owe anything" has no idea what they're talking about.

When you financed the vehicle, you agreed to pay X amount of dollars every X amount of days. If you default on that agreement, the finance company has the option to repossess the vehicle and resell it. And here's where it's fun - if there is any negative difference between what they sold it for and what you still owed on it, you still have to pay it even though you still don't have the vehicle.

I'd start looking around to see if you can borrow $900.
