    MTD lawn tractor not starting
Belt came off my MTD Bolen 18 HP Kohler engine lawn tractor model 13AX606G565. Put it back on and started fine. It is the longer belt for the blade. Came off second time and put it on and it would not start. Bought new belt and put it on and still will not start. Turn the key and nothing. Charged the Battery and same result. Worked and started fine until the old belt came off the second time.? What would be the problem?

    Hi,
I would say that the belt struck a safety switch or wires when it came off. Look under the machine for wires , and possibly trace them to the switches (or reverse order.)

MTD Lawn Tractor not starting [ 5 Answers ]

This was my dad's tractor so I don't know a lot about it except that it is about 4 years old. I went to start it and the B&S engine barely turns over. It makes a buzzing sound and if it was a car, I would suspect it to be a starter motor or bendix gear but I don't know enough about lawn tractors...
