    Maytag MGD5500 doesn't heat
    My neptune gas dryer doesn't heat once door has been opened during the cycle. THe only way that it will heat again is to leave it unplugged for a considerable amount of time.

I own a Maytag dryer that is 27 years old. The heating element comes on and initially I see "fire". Then the heating element comes on but nothing else happens. I think the model number is LDG309 and it's a gas dryer. HELP!
