    Warts are gone, is HPV gone?
    If my boyfriend has his HPV warts removed, is the HPV gone or can I still contract it from him?

    The virus is always in his body, and an outbreak can come at anytime, so no the HPV virus is not gone and it is still possible for you to contract HPV.

    Although treatments can get rid of the warts, none get rid of the virus. Because the virus is still present in your body, warts often come back after treatment. While there is no cure for HPV, the good news is the infection often clears on its own. If it does not, and treatment is needed, there are many HPV treatment options. Plus, as more people are vaccinated with the new HPV vaccines, the rates of HPV infection may be greatly reduced.
