    Hot Water Heater Burner Dirty
My hot water heater burner has a bunch of black stuff accumulating underneath the "burner." What should I do about this? Is it dangerous to run the hot water heater?

Yes don't run it until you get it checked out it could be low gas pressure or the burner is dirty or the firing valve isn't seating off all the way there's a good chance it's making carbon monoxide.
