Which sunblock protects the best from the sun / getting a tan ?
I need help. I am medium skin close to dark skin and I joined the swim team. I need a sunblock.. badly. I'm not trying to get any darker than what I already am. I'm outside everyday of the week for a couple hours & I don't want to go back to school darker than what I am.

Get one with a high SPF ; I'd say 30 or higher.

I am very blonde and light skinned - I wear a 55, never less than that.

I wear 50, so do my kids, but they're still tanned.

It's more to protect your skin, preventing a tan, well, it helps, but it doesn't completely block the sun from tanning you.

I've heard that there is now an SPF 80, but I haven't seen it.

80? I think 80 is a poncho. My kids and I are dark skinned also. We use 50 at the beach, and 30 everywhere else.

Sunblock does not stop you from getting darker/tan. It stops you from getting burn! There are two sunblock out there that are anti-tan but I don't know if they work. You could Google them since I don't remember the names. Google "anti-tan sunblock or sunscreen". One of the best sunscreen out there is Neutragena 100SPF. You can get this at the pharmacy. However, please note that you will still get darker or tan even wearing this, but your skin will not burn.
