Placing a lien on a property
Hello, I build fences and I built one for a customer and I have not been paid. He owes me $450. There was no contract signed but we had a verbal agreement and the work has been completed. I want to know how I go about placing a lien on his house to make sure I get paid. By the way I am in Ontario.

    Thank You.

File in small claims. Get a judgment and then file the lien.

I've been told that wealthy people place two liens on their own property, together equalling 100% of the value, to protect it should someone else want to place a lien on it. Is this correct? And how do we go about doing this?
