    Urgent on J2 visa extension
    Hi.
    I entered US on a J2 visa. Earlier my husband had a work status up to sept/09. Therefore I got Visa accordingly. Now mY husband got a new DS2019 depicting extended status. He is already having US-visa up to 2013. Do I need to visit my home country for an extended visa or I can get this visa extension from us itself.
    Please help me out. Thanks in advance for your time and advice.

    There is no procedure to get a visa issued in the US. Did you mean that you need to file for your extension of visa status as noted on your I-94? That can be filed in the US with the USCIS.

    If you need the J visa to travel, that must be filed at a US consulate, and those are only outside the US.
