Water and garbage disposal matters are coming out down in my basement.
Down in the basement in my laundry room I have a thing on the floor covered with a heavy slotted metal cover (sorry not sure what it is called). My kitchen sink and bathroom sink water/ garbage disposal stuff are coming out of it; and flooding the utility room. Can you please help – How do I unclog the drain there?

What you have in your basement is called a floor drain ,(see image)and you have a blockage downstream of it. Does your utility room have a washer station or utility sink? Are there cleanout tees,(see image) on any of the stacks in your basement? Are you on city sewer or a septic tank?
Answer my questions and I'll get right back to you. Regards, Tom

My washer drains into a utility sink. Sorry don't know what is a "Stacks" but the image you sent, I have few of them in my basement and I have only one drain on the floor. I'm on the city sewer. Thanks!

A stack is the vertical pipe the cleanout tees on on. Open up the clean out tee nearest to the floor drain and snake the line from there. You're lucky you have clean out tees in your basement. Most people would have to snake from a roof vent. Let me know how you make out. Tom

I used the clean out next to the floor drain. It worked. Thank you so much. You are the best!
