I am so upset about my boyfriends behaviuor, I have been with him for 8 years and I have a daughter from a previous relationship. He likes to see himself as her father figure she is now 19 yrs. We have had our dog (who we rescued from battersea dogs home) for about 6yrs, in the past 2years he has become quite vicious he has bitten quite a few people 2 of them seriously on the leg (full mouth bites) one of them was a little girl around 7 and the other my daughter only yesterday we had to go to hospital. The dog will not let my boyfriend and I cuddle or kiss he gets jealous and barks and cries,jumps up etc. I am now seriously concerned that he will bite someone even more seriously in the face or neck and then I will have to live with this. My boyfriend does not want to get rid of the dog and says he wants to try to train him (he is 7-8 yrs ) my daughter is scared of the dog and so am I, I feel that I can't tell him off as he may bite, but my boyfriend will not budge from his decision and says if we get rid of him we will need to get rid of our other dog who isn't violent as well I feel this is so unfair as she hasn't done anything. I am resenting my boyfriend a lot for these actions as he is hardly ever at home and always working (6 days a week) Please can people give me some advice as to what they would do, I feel as thou my boyfriend doesn't really care how my daughter and myself feel and is just concerned with the dog, he is a proper animal lover and think sometimes he will put the animals first over everything else!! Until you get this resolved you need to keep this dog in a crate or its own room especially when your boyfriend is not there to supervise the dog.

He is being unreasonable making ultimatiums that have nothing to do with the issue itself just to gain control of what he wants.
I think you should tell him its my dog and you or my dog but your dog is going either way with or without you. Give him that ultimatium.

I am surprised the animal control hasn't taken the dog already.
