    Should I be concerned?
My two dogs got into a fight yesterday afternoon, so I intervened and broke it up. Immediately afterward, my index finger was black and blue and swollen, but only above the top knuckle. I applied some ice to reduce the swelling. It worked, and the bruising seems to have gone completely, too.
Today, nearly 24 hours later, that same part of the finger looks almost back to normal, and there is not much pain at all (I am typing with it just fine) but it feels cold to me. More so internally than on the outside. Is this normal?

You probably should get it checked. Can you move your finger?

Yes, I can. Actually, at this point, it feels completely normal. If it acts up again, I will have it checked out. I recently lost my job and healthcare coverage, which is why I was hesitant.

I had to go to the ER this past winter. I signed for a low income grant. They sent me a paper that is good for free health care at their hospital until November when I think I can renew it. Ask about assistance for low/no income if you do have to go.
