Reset my hot water heater from vacation setting.
My hot water heater is a Gas heater made by State. It went to vacation mode yesterday and I followed instructions to reset it to normal range but it would not go. What could be the possible solution.

Are you sure that your pilot light is burning, if not turn the top knob to pilot and press down on the knob and as you are holding it down press the piezo lighter, continue to hold down the knob for about 45 seconds, Now turn the control knob to on and set the temperature.

If this does not work let me know.

My Hot Water Heater does not have a Pilot Light. THis is stated on the unit itself. The timer has an arrow on the unit for hotter and colder and a setting that says vacation. It has set itself to that setting and I followed steps to return it to normal but it resets itself to vacation after only about 30 seconds of running.
