01 Civic won't start promptly but gauges come on.
I have a 5-speed, 2001 Civic DX. Recently it has not started promptly every time I try. The gauges all come on when I turn the key, but that is about it. There is no noise at all from the engine, no mechanical sounds whatsoever. It seems to be worse when it is raining out, and has gotten to the point where it takes several minutes of trying to get it started. So far though it has eventually started. My car has a theft deterrent that requires me to pull the headlight switch toward me when I try to start the car. What could be causing this problem?
