    Buy property without govt. knowing?
My husband did not pay our taxes for years and did not tell me for years.

Is it possible to buy a piece of property while owing the IRS a substantial amount of money (40,000.00)? It shows up on our credit report right ? I do not see how anyone sell us anything knowing it the IRS would place a lien right away. Would someone please help me with this?

    Thank you,

    Roxanne

If you can buy out right cash a seller would not care what you owe.
They won't want to bother if it means they may not make their money through a loan.

But yes the government would put a lien on it.

Just out of curiosity - what point is owning property if he might very well be thrown in jail for tax evasion?
