Remember BEDMAS. Brackets, Exponents, Division, Multiplication, Addition, Subtraction.
When two values are represented next to each other in brackets as these are the inferred action is to multiply the two.
Therefor, (1.2)(-5)
= 1.2 x -5
= -6
