    Is she charging too much?
Ok so I haven't dyed my hair since November 2008. Currently I have about 4-5 inches of brown roots and the rest of my hair is blonde with brown underneath. It looks like crap but I'm scared to dye it because I've had many bad experiences in the past. Pretty much every time I dyed my hair I came out of the salon crying because it wasn't what I wanted.

I decided I want to do it dark brown with a bit of red tint in it. I went to a consultation at a salon that's known to be a bit pricey, and she told me she would charge me 95$ for color and to filter my hair so it doesn't turn green. I didn't think the price was too high but I don't know. Maybe it's worth it because my hair is really messed up right now and I need to go to a professional to make sure it comes out right, but it is too much?

Check around and get other estimates.
It does sound like too much for JUST dying your hair but if she is doing special treatments too then it may not be too much.

I will not be getting any treatments, she will just put a filter in my hair so it doesn't turn green, and another hair dresser told me that only takes like 5-10 minutes so she shouldn't be charging me so much for it. But yea I will check out other salons and compare prices. The color is like 65$ so she's charging me 30$ to put a filter in my hair and I don't know if she's over charging me..

Not following what it is saying about filtering, if anything?
Or is the hair care with the oils in place of filtering?

Honestly I'm not 100% sure what filtering is lol, I know it has something to do with putting red in my hair so when the dark brown is put ontop of the blonde, it won't turn green. The stylist recommended I get it done just to make sure it doesn't turn green, because last time I dyed my hair brown over blonde it had a green tint and I don't want that to happen again.
