Something that looks important says not responding
    Hello :)

My computer runs fine all the time. No problems what so ever. (cept slow internet, but that's just crappy wifi)

Every time I go to shut down, it pops up an 'end program' window saying 'SIgmatel-IDT-SysTray not responding, end program to continue'

If I don't end this, it does NOT shut down. If I do, it shuts down just fine. And then turns back on just fine.

Any ideas on what this is?

This should stop that from happening

    -Start, run and type msconfig
    Hit enter
-go to the startup tab and uncheck this: sttray.exe and click apply and let it restart the computer
-after restarted, when you try and restart again, that should not happen any longer

    SigmatelSysTrayApp / sttray.exe

    File Name: sttray.exe
Status: SigmatelSysTrayApp is not necessary for startup. It is usually run infrequently and can be started manually if needed.

Additional Info: System tray program for the Sigmatel Audio sound card. Often found on Dell computers

If anything that you notice stops responding after doing this, you can always go back and put check back in

ATI video cards and other software/devices as well like to add system tray icons that are really not needed and if so, can always be started manually by just clicking on the exe file

Hope that took care of it for you

My Yahoo Messenger do this from time to time so its kind of annoying that I have to click "end program" before my PC can shut down.
