    Electric dryer not getting hot
I have a Kenmore Heavy Duty electric dryer. The issue right now is that the dryer is not getting hot. I also feel as though the timer button may not be working properly.

I googled this issue. Could this be the timer monitor? If so, how can I check it and how do I fix it.

Any other thoughts on the problem are greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance!

On first thought, it's more likely to be the heating element. Have you checked that?

Perito, I have not had time to check anything yet as I just found the issue this morning before work. How would I check the heating element?

Basically, unplug the dryer. Open up the cabinet -- not sure exactly how to do this on your model -- and locate the heating element. Remove the power wire (this is why you unplug it) from one leg and use an ohmmeter to see if the element is continuous or not. You should see a resistance of roughly 20 ohms. If the element is open, you'll see a resistance in the millions or thousands of ohms.

Sounds good. I will try it when I get home.

    Thanks, perito.
