    Car loan removal
Two years ago I financed a car, I am primary on the account and my ex girlfriend is secondary/co-signer on the account. She was suppose to refinance after the break up and the title is now in her name. I just recently found out that she never did and her payments have been late. I have tried every which way to contact her and I can not reach her... plus I know she is avoiding me. The financing company will not give me any of her contact information either. What can I do now? If the car title is in HER name how can I proceed to removing my name from this loan. Is there a way I can tell the dealership that I no longer want this car and have them take it without hurting my credit?

    Thanks for your time

Basically you can't - you owe on the loan, the whole loan if she decides she doesn't want to pay or if she simply cannot pay.

The loan company is not going to remove your name when it now has the ability to pursue both of you for the balance. If you were to be removed, she would be the only one they could pursue - and they don't want that!

As long as you are the loan, any repossession will hurt your credit as it will appear on your credit report.

The only other thing I can suggest is that you pay off the car and then pursue her for that amount in Small Claims Court. Of course, if she doesn't have the money to pay them she probably doesn't have the money to pay you.
