Dachshunds - Dogs & back problems
I have a 4 1/2 year old mini Dachshund with back problems already. Is 4 1/2 too young for this type of breed to start having back complications?

    Hi, Joan1!

Greetings and WELCOME to the site! I just moved your question that you had posted in Introductions to this forum topic area so that it will get the most exposure to those who are best able to answer it. Introductions is for people to introduce themselves and we try to not ask questions there.

It can be a little confusing when first learning how to use this site! Your question will get noticed much more in this forum topic area.

I do note, that you did already get a response from Unknown008 while your question was in Introductions.

We would appreciate it if you would return to Introductions sometime to tell us a little about yourself though, if you would be willing to do that.

    Thanks!

No it is not too young for her to be having problems.

While a lot of Dacshunds won't get problems until later in life there are many that have pain earlier.

Has she been to the vet to evaluate her?

Try helping her by buying or making things like doggy steps for high places.
These help in stopping your dog from jumping on things like furniture by walking up small stairs instead.

My dogs head started like twitching back and forth 2 days ago and still does it. [ 2 Answers ]

My dog is about 16months old and 2 days ago she was laying on the ground and her head would start shaking back and forth and then stop and then start. Could this be series I've taken her to the vet so many times already because she's had skin problems. Could she be getting to many vitamins or not...
