The capacitor on my bryant heat pump was bad and I got a new one.
1) the new one is oval and the old one was round. Is it OK if I use this new one or should I try to buy a round one as well?
2) there are three different color wires so when I discoonected the old capacitor, I did not write down which wire goes to where on the capacitor, what do I do?

Oval is fine.. just make sure it is correct microfareds... also if the original was 440 v you can not use a 370 volt. But if it was a 370 you can use a 440.
There is a wire diagram in the control panel that will guide you on which collor where. The cap should be marked as to which post is what.

You should be able to follow schematic. If not tell us your model number and maybe we can pull it up and walk you through it.

Lesson learned, always make a diagram before removing parts. Pictures help too. But don't worry your not the first or last guy to do this.

Look at the old one, it should be marked.

Go to any good electrical supply company or even a good appliance parts supply company. That should be a fairly common capacity and voltage. Amazon even carries them.
