    I'm a little green today.
After months of fighting and struggling to be really (almost platinum) blonde I've given up and decided to go a tad darker in order to make my natural color (light brown) transition easier. Today I'm a little green. Kind of strange since lately I've been using fanci full in an ash to counteract the red's in my hair or my blonde had a touch of copper to it.

Is there something I can use to combat the red? I don't want to use any peroxide products on it since it's just been processed to death.

Green comes from "not enough red". I'm surprised that the Fanci-Ful rinse did it. Maybe you used too much. Usually there's red in the hair, and you said that you're trying to combat the red. Maybe you used too much of the Fanci-Ful, or possibly the wrong shade. "Ash" tends to contain a little more green than other shades.

Is it red you're trying to counteract, or yellow? If you're nearly platinum blonde, it would be the yellow that would be causing problems. If you tried to dye it a bit darker, then there's not enough red in the hair. The dye formulators assumed that there would be some and if your hair is bleached very light (as it sounds like it is), you need to add a little bit of red in order to counteract the green. In the days (1970s) when double-processing was in its heyday, there were many toners available in every drugstore. You were able to choose a toner without worrying about going green.

I wasn't very clear was I? I've been using the ash Fanci Full to combat red in my hair. Red? Maybe it's more of an orange. At any rate, I'm tired of battling to be this blonde and I'm giving up. I don't think the Fanci Full caused my hair to turn green.

I used a Garnier medium natural blonde on it last night... I got medium natural blonde with a hint of booger green =) It looks as though I've spent too much time in the pool.

I don't want to use anything on it to combat the green that will cause further damage. Any ideas? Maybe a red based fanci full until the color grows out?

Yes, a red Fanci-Ful will work. It's probably the easiest and the best solution for you. You might end up mixing some of that with some of what you're using now -- unless you want to try out the strawberry blonde look ;) . The Garnier medium natural blonde will fade. That's undoubtedly where the green came from. In a week or two you will probably not want to use the red any longer.

I hope things work out well for you. In my experience, many people who've lightened their hair and then gone back to their natural color, become bored with their natural color. They may not go back to the very light blonde, but they'll often go a shade or two lighter or go with highlights.

    Thanks Perito!

Yes, I think I'll go back to my natural color with highlights... when my hair is healthy. Actually I was going in for highlights when a Pink song came on the radio and I thought "Platinum? Short? Why not?!" My hairdresser warned me that this blonde was tricky, a lot of work and damaging... I should have listened! =)
