Hi Everyone,
I am having so much trouble, trouble shooting my furnace,
I have a Amana Furnace, I noticed that the Burner is not staying long enough for the heat to blow through the vent.
This is my observation, once adjusted the temp desired in the thermostat, the burner on the furnace lights up to clear orange, then burns and turns to blue, once the burner burns in to blue color it burns for maybe good 30 seconds, and then the blower start to run.. once the blower from the lower unit start working, the Burner restarts itself and starts burning for good 10 seconds and then dies out again. But the blower still runs.. now this continues on, but the temperature does not rise.
From this observation only a little of heat is being transferred from the burner to the blower, so there for the temp will not rise.
Please anyone any solution to this madness..
Ps, I have cleaned the that little porcelen device with curved wire but the unit is still doing the same thing..

I have the same problem, if I turn the temp down (so the heater won't turn on)an wait 15 minutes then turn the temp back up the heater will work for a day or so. The problem returns, I am going to replace the thermostate first. Because the temp readings are the same if the room temp is showing 72 and the thermostate is set to 72 you would think the heater would turn off, but it won't the blower keeps trying to run. The problem is the flame sensor. On these units cleaning it has not worked for me. I recommend replacing the flame sensor. What is happening is the blower comes on to remove any gas fumes, then the igniter glows and the flame comes on, when the main burner comes on the blower increases, at this point if the system does not see a flame as indicated by a signal from the flame sensor, then it shuts down gas and main blower. Replacement of the flame sensor will correct this issue. Note if the igniter does not glow, it may be cracked or broken and it should be replaced.
