    Rainsoft gold series water softner
    My water softner came with the house I bought, the bottom half of tank is almost solid salt which has solidified,can I pour water into salt to soften or should I just push the regen button will this damage the softner?:confused:

    I'd try pushing the regen button. Solid salt will still dissolve. You can also pour water into it to partially dissolve it and hopefully break it up.
