    Ammending taxes
    Hello
    My parentes got resident status on June of 2008 and they got their ssn on July, can I amend my taxes for 2006,2007 including them as deppendents since they just got resident status on 2008?

    Yes, if you can prove that they were U.S. residents in 2006 and 2007.

    As I told you before, they just got resident status on 2008, but they came like tourist in 2006, and 2007 and they stayed 2 months each year

    Then you CANNOT claim them as dependents for tax years 2006 and 2007, because, to e claimed as dependents on your U.S. tax return, your parents MUST be residents of the U.S.

    Two months per year for two years is NOT enough time to establish residency.
