How do I stop the whinning?
I have a 2yr old Yorkie (male), he is a loving dog... however he just won't train! He still pee's on the side of the couch (he has been fixed), he cannot be outside without a lease (he is a runner), and now my favorite thing... he whines all the time! He has been checked by a vet and has no medical condition! I spend all day with him (well as much as I can), I put him in a kennel at night or when I am leaving the house. He does not chew on anything but he will pee on the furniture (even though I put him outside right before bedtime). So, my question is... HOW DO I STOP HIS WHINNING AT NIGHT! He cries the minute I leave his sight.

What techniques have you used to house break him?

What do you do when you catch him peeing inside?

What do you do when he starts whining?

The answers to these questions will help determine where to go from here.

Everything you've described is learned behaviour, and sadly the dog has learned it from you.

If you're not consistent then your dog won't be either.

I'll await your reply then we can go from there.
