    Dvd combo not getting power nor reads
    My dvd rw cd combo stopped working it won't open nor read it was working fine then just stopped I tried torestore to a earlier date that didn't work and I tried recovering my laptop but still nothing what can I do or do I needa new 1

    Sounds like something physical with the drive

    Is there a disc in there now?
    -either or, look for pinhole on the CD drive door and use end of a paperclip to push in and release the CD door -

    Remove disk, close door as normal, restart PC and when back in windows, see if you are able to put in a different disc that you know works (not one that was in there) and see if that helps out

    I can open it using a pin but it not getting power but when I tried that its still not spinning to read it

    Going to be hardware issue if not getting any power.

    Any chance still in warranty.

    Always happens that way. If possible, see if you can get some sort of free estimate on a replacement drive at some local retail store that sells same brands of laptops.

    Laptops not as easy as desktop unless comfortable with replacing on your own.

    But would see how much a replacement drive would be and how much repair center would charge to install - but make sure that is what issue is before purchasing drive.

    Another option (which may prove less expensive) purchase a portable USB CD/DVD drive and just connect that through an open USB port.
