    Water pressure problems
Looking to buy a house. This is an older house with city water, but there are water pressure problems. The bank will not approve the loan unless this is fixed. Any ideas about what could be causing water pressure issues? What is the first thing that we would need to check out?

Your question's really lacking in detail. I assume by 'pressure problems" you're referring to the volume and pressure falling off every time more then one faucet's opened or a toilet's flushed.
In older homes this is caused by iron oxcide,(rust) build up in old galvanized piping. This restricts volume and with no volume you have no pressure.
The solution won't be a easy one. A repipe job is needed here. Get three estimates. The good news is that now you have a reason to request a reduction in the homes asking price. Good luck, Tom
