    Who is the artist of this pastel and is he still alive.
    This is a portrait of a family member and I would like to know something about the artist. Attached is signature and the pastel (I think). The artist signature is Gentry

    My guess is it wasn't anybody famous.
    Probably more along the lines of the artists that do your portrait at malls and festivals.
