I am looking for an old anime I saw as a kid. I am almost certain it was just a single movie, not an on-going series. It would be from mid 90's or earlier. I remember some things about it. It was about a kid whose village was destroyed by a bald man with a monastic staff that always jingle when he walked. He was taken in by an old man. There was a woman and man sent to kill the kid. The old man dies, saying something along the lines of "I am going to leave this world as I left it" and then walks off to die alone.

It gets a bit more vivid after that. He goes to the united states after finding out the kid and the girl trying to kill him are brother and sister. The Kid and his sister go and land in California. The climb through the mountains and the girl finds a baby wolf. Another part, they go into a saloon and he and the girl have beer poured over them and the kid gets challenged to a duel. It is two guys with guns against him. When the clock strikes noon, a carriage rolls by kicking up dust and the kid jumps in the air and the guys shoot at him and he deflects the bullets with his sword back into the men.

That is all I can remember, but I hope it is enough.

I literally just posted the same question. I remember the old guy. He had a giant (metal?) walking stick/staff/weapon. I remember the ring on top of it clanging around. If you find out, could you let me know?
