    Hey, so the problem I am having right now is that after the motherboard splash screen comes on and is just about done loading(the bar is nearly full) the computer completely freezes and starts consecutively beeping, I have tried finding a beep code for the 400 xps with no avail, I have tried to restore but all of the BIOS restore pages on the internet mention a floppy which unfortuunately is the only drive the PC did not come with, it seems that to boot anything on this motherboard you have to access a special boot menu, which upon trying to access completely freezes up. This occurred right after I tried to upgrade the BIOS by inserting a falsh drive into a USB port and trying to access the boot menu, then it started the consecutive beeping just like after every boot. I have reset the Battery for the motherboard, reset almost all connections, reset power all to no avail. The flashing numbers on the front of theds desktop themselves are completely irrelevant because each time no two numbers are the same when it freezes, the cylinder icon however stops flashing altoghether when the computer freezes, everything else seems to be fucntional, all the fans are buzzing and all the lights are on.

    My BIOS setup is:Dell System DXP051 with version A02 and last updated in 2005.

    The Motherboard looks like a Intel 945G chipset

    How long did you have battery out?

    Leave out for few hours or overnight and try again, should reset bios back to default
