    Valve Problems
I'm trying to turn the water off to the house had the Isolation valve will not turn. It is a wel Basch 3/4" valve. It looks like it has a top cover with a square on that. I have placed a wrench on it but it will not move. I'm I just fighting a turf valve or am I doing something wrong?

    Hi Pavs...

If you are trying to shut the water off to the house and this is a city/town water supply, i.e. you have a water meter, then if you are having this much trouble with the shutoff you need to contact the city/town water department and let them know about your difficulty with the main shutoff valve at your house.

Just image if that shutoff were to break clean off in your hand... water going everywhere for an unimaginable time while the water department tries to scramble some people together to try and find the main CURB STOP (main water supply shutoff) to your house...

You do know where the curb stop to the house is...right?

Just imagine further that you can't find the curb stop and even the town is having trouble finding it??

    You get the idea... :)

Anyway, if that shutoff is presenting that much of an issue, I would schedule for the installation of a new main water shutoff valve (3/4" full-port) with the city/town water department and if unsure of your skills hire a licensed plumber... they do a lot of these.

Let me know if you have questions...
