    A Plumbing Boot,(see images) is a protective seal for our vent pipes as they exit the roof. Thery can be rubber or plastic, howeve, r back in my day roof boots were made of sheet lead. As you can see by the large picture rubber boots can fail and leak. REgards, Tom
