Hi, I'm looking to replace my thermostat my son destroyed by using it as a baseball. I will like to replace it with a new programmable one, and I'm trying to figure out which ones might be compatible with my heat pump. I'm having trouble determining what type of heat pump I have. Any help would be appreciated!
My thermostat was:
The Robertshaw 9420 multi-stage thermostat designed to control. 24 VAC heat pump systems.
Wiring:
6 wires
C=Blue
R=Red
Y1=Yellow
W2=White
G= Green
O=Orange
Unit outside:
Lennox
m/n 12hpb30-10p
s/n 5803d78211
Unit iside:
Lennox
m/n cb29m-411p
s/n 5803f 39385
All this was install on 7/24/03 by the builder.
My husband is in Afgahnistan and he usually do all this work Now Im using a portable ac unit because the heat reach 98 here in Florida and the ac people want about 375$ for intallation Can you help.

Buy a good quality Honeywell thermostat for heat pump use. The instructions that come with the unit are very clear so you should not have a problem hooking it up. Make sure you turn the power off to both the inside and outside units before messing with the wires. Label all wires so you know exactly where they were located on the old thermostat OR as you have already done by using the color code.

See this link. At the top is the digital selection. Remember you have a heat pump.

The vision pro is a good series thermostat.

The Vision Pro is a great choice, and yes, be sure to power down everything, as you run the risk of blowing your transformer. That's not a huge problem, but not one we want to help solve unnecessarily.

Also, digital cameras are great for remembering.

In a pinch, Home Depot, Ace and Walmart sell the Model # RTH7600D. Call to be sure they have one in stock. It will get the job done.

Read the directions carefully, and repost here if you have any doubts. We'll be here, and Honeywell support is pretty good.

BTW, your English is better than some posts I've seen. I wish your husband and all our troops a safe and speedy return.

Just wanted to provide you all with an update.
My choice was the Honeywell TH8110 VisionPro
I have not install it yet I am away visiting my mother in Japan for a month. One feature I like is the Auto Or Maunal Changeover, wich I hope will chose heat or cool automatically. And to be honest it looks cool If any one think this is not a good choice Please let me know so I can exchange when I get back.

It is a good choice but be very careful with the auto changeover settings. The auto changeover can turn into a big energy user if not set up properly. In most parts of the country in a residential setting it is usually not necessary. In a commercial setting that can be a different story. Make sure to read the instructions and identify and mark the wires from where they are removed from on the old thermostat to make the install of your new thermostat trouble free. Also do not forget to plug the hole around where the thermostat wire comes through and attaches to the thermostat. By making sure no wall air can pass through where the thermostat wire comes through the wall it will make the thermostat more accurate. (no drafts on the thermostat sensors).

Example of old thermostat wiring Red wire=R on thermostat
Green wire=G on old thermostat
And so forth.
This will all be covered in your manual.
