    About obsession
    Hi "ask me",

One of my friends is suffering from a mental trauma. When he is alone,he starts getting the feeling of being contaminated.Till the last year, he was not so particular about his hygiene but during these days he is excessively concerned about that. I think that he still can be cured at this stage considering his strong determination power.Could you please advise some measures to be taken(by him) on the "mental aspect" of this problem?
He is currently trying the methods in which one is deliberately forced to such situation and then is left fighting with till the impulse dies away.. But will it be effective as he is living in a hostel and doesn't find it right to devote so much of time? Or should he indulge himself in the activities so that he won't get the time to think about those obnoxious feelings?

    Thank you.

This is really something that usually takes an immense amount of professional counseling to help with.

Has something happened in his past that made this come about?

Can you elaborate any more than you already have?

Sounds like it might possibly be a case of OCD, obsessive compulsive disorder--he will likely need to seek professional help for the anxiety it is causing him.
