    Pipes banging
One toilet bangs when it done filling, and two of three lawn sprinkler stations bang when they shut off, one very loud. This all started 7 months ago. Any suggestions as to why or how to stop would be greatly appreciated. The house is 14 years old. Thanks.

    This sounds like water hammer.

    Shut off main water supply.

Open faucets to let water drain.

Start at highest angle valve, loosen packing nut and remove valve stem. Let water drain. Reinstall valve stem and tighten packing nut.

Do this to every angle valve in house.

After finished, turn water on andshut faucets starting at last one u opened. U should be good to go.

    Good luck

    Chuck
