Honda Civic door ajar warning light
My 91 Honda Civic DX has the door ajar warning light that stays on (driver side door) and once I begin driving, the seat belt warning light comes on and begins beeping (even though I am buckled in), and doesn't stop until I turn off the key. Where can I look for this switch to bypass or repair, or how can I disable the warning lights?

    Thanks

It is usually on the hinge side of the latch side of the door.

There is a switch that operates the dome light only. It is located on the post of the car (the body of the car just below where the latch hooks on to). That switch doesn't operate the door ajar warning. I'm going to look in the latch mechanism itself within the door, I can see a bundle of wires going there. I'll let you all know if I succeed.

Maybe try closing that doors latch with a screw driver, DO NOT TRY TO CLOSE DOOR LIKE THIS. See if light goes out. Then undo latch with door handle. You are looking to see if door ajar goes out. With the door latch closed, with the door open.

Closing the latch with the door open still yields a door ajar light. I've got to tear into the wire bundle to the latch, I'm afraid.

Forgot switch is in jamb, not door.
Once you unplug the correct wires to the switch, light will go out.
I think I have a schematic, will dig up tomorrow, should be able to clip 1 wire.
