I am sorry to say this but the only option is to take him to the vets.
Giving a dog medication that has not been specifically prescribed for the dog can be very harmful.
It sounds like he may have a problem with swallowing and may even require surgery.
Try calling your vet and see if you an get a payment plan organised. A lot of them will accept small payments over a few months.
Some shelters can also offer discounted vet visits in emergencies.
This needs to be treated straight away... what if the dog stops breathing in the middle of the night or when you aren't there to revive it?

Thanks for the info. I am terrified but I have no money for me to go for my meds or my dog. Vets where I live do not take any payments at all I checked all of them in and out of my area. Its so sad money immediately is more important to vets then trying to help people with needing to do payments.

While I do see your concern - money upfront is not uncommon - clinics get burned all the time, and because of that most have adopted that policy. Most clinics will do payment plans for clients they know and trust, but if you are a new to a clinic they will not take the risk..

We had a similar thing a few years back when one of our Great Danes got bitten by a snake. Out usually vet wasn't available so we had to call another. He came out to our property with the anti-venine (sp?) but he would not administer it to the dog until he had his $1500... We had the money in the bank account but my mum doesn't axectly keep $1500 laying aorund the house.
It took half an hour to convince him to give the dog the drugs... he was dying in front of our eyes while he was arguing about money...
I do feel your pain but I do agree with Sariss, a lot of the time people don't pay up which can make them very wary of people saying they will "pay tomorrow"
