Centra AC blows room temperature air, not cold air
Hello, I have an old goodman central a/c it has a forced air blower on the floor level of a 2 story house, when you lower the temperature on the thermostat the blower will kick in, then a couple of minutes later the external unit (condenser I might dare to say) kicks in as well, but it blows only room temperature air, not cold air. It worked briefly last week but its not doing it now
Any ideas? I know there is a fuse box outside where the external unit is located, could that be it?
I think that if I turn on the heat it will work.

Last year something similar happened and a guy was here and fixed it in a couple of minutes (but I wasn't present at home so I don't know what he did)

If the fan runs on the outside unit then the fuses for the outside unit are OK since the fan outside runs off the same fuses/breakers as the compressor.

Since you say the outside unit does kick in after a minute or two it seems the compressor in the outside unit is not running or the unit has developed a refrigerant leak. You can turn off the power for the outside unit and take off the access door and look for burnt or damaged wires going from the contactor to the capacitor and then down to the compressor. Since I have no idea what your capabilitys are and weather or not you have the necessary tools you might be better off seeking professional on site help for your situation.

I did re verify... the fuses are OK like you mentioned, none of the breakers its off, and everything overall seems to be just fine, I'm OK with doing electrical work (kind of basic) and playing with circuits, replacing a thermostat, but... I'm not comfortable enough on an air conditioning unit as far as relays and things like that. I guess ill have to give a call to somebody unless you have another idea

    Regards

Calling in a professional will be your next step since the next step will require more indepth electrical and sealed system testing.
