    Fireproof paneling
    Hi all,

In my office I've wood paneling (8' x 4' x 1/8'') dark oak Type II (info taken from the back of the panel).
I need to know if these paneling is fire rated or fire proofed, or how to know when a panel if fire proofed?

A favor of a reply is appreciated.

There is no such thing as "fireproof" wood paneling.

Building materials' fire resistance is "rated", so if it's fire resistant at all (and the stuff you have nearly certainly is not) you should see a reference to either "ASTM" or "fire resistant" or "fire rated", "flame spread" etc stamped on the material.

I'm not finding any reference to "Type II" being a reference to a level of fire resistance; I believe that is probably a manufacturer's spec on the type/style of paneling that it is.

... so in short, if it does not clearly indicate a level of fire resitance, then it is likely not at all fire resistant.

I just looked up on http://www.awc.org/Publications/dca/dca1/DCA1.pdf
    And it says:
    Classification in Codes are:
Class Flame Spread Range Example Locations
    I or A 0-25 Enclosed vertical exits
II or B 26-75 Exit access corridors
III or C 76-200 Other rooms and areas
