Child visiting other parent in dirty living conditions
I'm sorry if I posted this in the wrong area, but I was unsure where I should post something like I'm about to describe. Well here's the deal, my fiances's little girl lives with us and has since last August. Well she visits her mom usually every other weekend except during the summer like now for example, she visits for longer periods. Well my fiance's daughter tells us stuff like her mom has cock roaches at her house and she never gets a bath at her moms house. She also told her dad that when she's at her moms that she sleeps in the laundry room on a mattress. She also said that her brother and sister ages 9 and 10 share a bed together while they are with their mom. Now I might be wrong on the ages of the brother and sister, but they are pretty close to those ages if I'm wrong. The children also have head lice all the time and I have to treat my fiance's daughter's hair quite a bit because of it. I was just wandering what I should do. Would that be a good enough reason to call DCEFS to at least report it and have it checked out? Any suggestions would be deeply appreciated.

Yes it would be good enough reason to call DCEFS. They will investigate and decide if the conditions are bad enough.

I have seen workers go in the filthiest houses with roaches and lice and claim unfounded so you might have to keep calling back if they do not do anything about it.
