    Ceiling Fan Light Kit
I installed a ceiling fan light kit, It has a white and a black wire. I hooked up the white to the white on the fan. I then hook up the black wire to the blue wire on the fan. Nothing happened except the fan worked.

I then unhook the fan from the celing and hooked up the red, black, and blue wires together.

The light works but the fan doesn't. I can hear the fan motor but the fan doesn't turn.

I would like to have the fan be controlled by the wall and the light to be controlled by the pull chain, or vice versa if that is easier.

    What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks

    I need to clairfy,

I hooked up the red and black wires form the ceiling to the blue and black wire that comes from the fan.

I hooked up the white wire from the light kite to the white wire from the fan. I hooked up the black wire from the wire kit to the blue wire from the fan.

I screwed something up because I unhooked it all and hooked up just the fan and the fan doesn't work know.
