    Sears Craftsman does not start
My sears craftsman II 18 HP tractor will not start unless I Jump it off the positive terminal to the solenoid. The electric mower engagement switch does not work either. Any suggestions? Could the start switch be bad?

This is a rather late reply, But I would guess you have a bad solenoid. Do/ did you hear anything at all?
