    The luckiest people ?
Johanna Ganthaler, an elderly woman and her husband Kurt , missed Air France Flight 447 when they arrived late at Rio de Janeiro airport on May 31. The plane plunged into the Atlantic, just four hours into the flight bound for Paris – 228 people lost their lives. They caught a flight back the next day .They must've thought they were the luckiest people in the world .

Well, Ganthaler died this week, after her car veered across the road in a town in Austria, causing a head-on collision with a truck ;and Kurt was seriously injured .

I bet they never saw Final Destination.

As I was reading Final destination was the first thing to pop into my mind. That is a shame.

At the beginning of the week I was saying that the Yanks need counseling to get the Sox out of their psyche . Now ;especially after yesterday's late melt-down;I am recommending an exorcism.

The big difference between this and the Final Destination movies is that by not taking the plane ,this couple put the truck driver at risk.

Please tell me they didn't get hit by a truck carrying tree trunks like in the movie.

Maybe that Sox jersey that was dropped in the cement at the new Yankee stadium actually did something.

I refuse to become Red Sox "jinxed " like Red Sox fans had for years. Yesterday's melt down was a judgement call by the manager that was sound and didn't work out (leaving the started in too long) . But there were also key at bats where the they did not do their jobs ;and the 2nd game in a row where Swisher got picked off like a little leaguerdue to poor base running disipline . The game before Posada came within 2 feet of bouncing the tying drive off the green monster . That's baseball.
The way I see it... they need to win 9 of the next 11 games against the Sox to tie the season head to head record and even if they don't... the playoffs is a clean slate.

Interests of Wealthy people vs Less wealthy people [ 3 Answers ]

I know that it is a well know fact that affluent people often have very different interests (i.e. in sport) to poorer people, even when they live in proximity. Is there a theory that some geogpraher has made? Or is it just a common stereotype/knowledge?

Is it just me or do people know! [ 6 Answers ]

When I see other people going about their every day lives, I allways wonder if they acctually realize what's real... This is kind of hard to explain... Why do people die? [ 18 Answers ]

Why do people die, what kind of benevolent God would allow it to happen, especially when the justification is that some bloke four thousand years back ate an apple, apparently, after being created by a God who gave him the kind of character which meant he was always going to eat the d*mn apple.
