Best place to start would be by asking family members, most notably, you parents.

The first question is this: How old are you?

The following are the basic steps for initiating a search, but depending on when your adoption was, there may be other steps.

    1. Ask your adoptive parents.

    2. Contact the adoption agency and ask to leave a letter with your contact information in it in case your birthparents are looking. Your adoptive parents should know which agency they used!
    3. Do the same at the courthouse in the county you were born/adopted in. Again, this is information that your adoptive parents should have.
    4. Register on reunion websites, such as ISSR, adoption.org and adoption.com

Basically, that's about it for what you can do for free. If you're willing to PAY to find them, I suggest hiring a private detective, but that gets really expensive, really fast.
