    Shoplifting Colorado
I was caught stealing $25 in cream, I have never been convicted for anything. Should I hire a lawyer for my court date? I am an adult and can't imagine they will just give me a slap on the hand. I made a bad decision. Is there any type of free legal council?

You might be able to get a legal aid,ask about a diversion program. Since it's your first time getting in trouble the penalty going to be lite but your want to try to avoid an conviction for theft on your record.
