    Popping sound
When I went to turn on the lights in the garage I heard a popping sound and only one light came on. Anyone know what the problem may be?

The lights are fluorescent shop lights. It sounded like the popping came from the switch, but I'm not sure.

Switches that are defective or on their way to fail can produce a spark inside the switch that can sound like a pop.

However you say only one light came on, indicating there is another light that did not come on. Fluouescent lights have ballasts inside that can fail and may pop when doing so.

Best to not use these lights or switches until you can have someone qualifed and experienced check this problem.
