Am I aloud to or not?
Hello, I'm 18. I graduate in 24 days.
My boyfriend is 20. I want to sleep over his house this Friday, or any day.
My mom doesn't want me to sleep over any guys.. she said if I do she will send cops to the house and tell them he raped me. NOT TRUE!. he never did... I think she is saying that to scare me.. but really I'm not sure if I can sleep over his house.. like can't see have the cops come and remove me and take me back home?
Please everyone seems to be giving me different answers.
Thank you.

You are 18... legally, you can sleep over at his house. Your mom can say that he raped you but you have to be willing to press charges.
Unless (I think) she claims that he raped you when you were only 17... then, I believe, she has the authority to press charges herself.

Hi I'm from the United Kingdom, I'm 17 and am not too sure about the laws where you live.
But if you are 18 you are technically a young adult and able to stay around your boyfriens house. But like the other answer if you were 17 when you started sleeping together ( if so ) then your mum could possibly press charges. Every mother wants the best for there daughter like anybody would. I believe she is just saying this as a way to protect you. You should sit down with your mum and talk to her about this, tell her how you feel mentally and physically, that you are ready to take your relationship a step further. And that you would really like her to be able to accept the fact you are grown up and you would like her support. I know I'm young myself but me and my mother have a very close bond and can talk about these things. I hope my advice help.

LMAO RAPE does she really need to know something that personal that your going to sleep at his house? You can always say your going to the movies or something and just get a hotel room=). Also the police can't remove you your 18.

I believe it has already been stated, but if you are 18 then she cannot press charges for you nor does she really have any say about what you do, except for "follow these rules under my house."
Just make sure your ready to handle the responsibilities that you may or may not run into.
Good luck. :)

She can not press charges unless you back up her claims. She can give you an impossible time at home. She can call the cops and send them to your bf's house but when you explain that you are 18 and your mom is just trying to make life with your boyfriend impossible they can't do anything.
I wouldn't lie to her though.

Be careful though... because I do think that if you just recently turned 18, she can claim that he raped you when you were 17... and she may have the authority to press charges on that.

Ahh I wasn't thinking of that and it has been known to happen. Hopefully she won't do something like that. Just trying to stir up trouble can often alienate your kids.
But very likely the police will see she is at his house on her own free will and the mother is causing problems and leave it go.

You are 18 and free to sleep with who you want to BUT you must use protection i.e. condums and birth control. If you want to be respected by your boyfriend and your mother than you will grow up and take control of your life. By using protection and moving out from under your Mom's thumb/house as soon as possible. The one who pays the bills makes the rules.
